The nine graduates which included Marcus Benjamin, Trevor Chichester, Jollian Dawson, Akeem Hector, Mark Hiraman, Rayon Lee, Teon McKenzie, Judah Pancham and Allacai Ross were presented with certifications for their successful completion of the training course. With this, they are qualified to obtain a position in the field of machinery operation.
Present at the gathering was the keynote speaker and Administrative Manager of MACORP, Anita Ramprasad, who addressed the gathering of young men who were recipients of varying awards. She encouraged them to follow in the pursuit of success, which is measured by the input of effort, humility and consistency.
“Success is a measure of what we’ve achieved as compared to what we’re capable of achieving. Of course, it is not done alone but it is a personal journey and that means there should never be comparison.”
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the machinery company, Jorge Medina highlighted that while MACORP is engaged in nation-building by creating skilled personnel in these fields, preparation and the need for development of local talent should also be on the agenda of everyone.
“Everybody must include the local content but we must also offer quality, good level of skills, capability to execute in their work at international standards,” he explained.
Additionally, the Chief Operations Officer Guillermo Escarraga emphasised on the commitments that were made for the training to materialise and also on the high standards that are offered at the company as it relates to training.
“We know that this is the beginning of a better life for our graduates. We always want to be associated with those that want to pursue a better life for their own means. We are always in the forefront of those that seek to do always the best,” Escarraga related.
In the past years, a total of 160 men and women successfully graduated from the training programmes that were conducted with employees and new recruits. The valedictorian for this year’s training exercise was Mark Hiraman.
