90 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health is reporting that Guyana has recorded 90 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This now takes the total number of confirmed cases to 1703.

Based on the figures released, 16 persons are now housed in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) while 1045 recoveries have been recorded.

Of the total cases, 842 are males while 861 are females. The Ministry claims that 51 persons are in Institutional Isolation while 543 are in Home Isolation.

68 persons are in Institutional Quarantine and the death toll remains at 48. Thus far, 10,345 tests have been administered.
