The narcotics found abandoned in Mahdia

Police in Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) are investigating the discovery of a quantity of cannabis following an operation in Mahdia on Thursday night.
According to Police, the operation was conducted between 23:00h and 23:50h along School Street, Mahdia. During the exercise, detectives carried out a sweep in the vicinity and searched an abandoned yard in the area.
During the search, ranks found a bulky black plastic bag containing nine transparent plastic bags with seeds, leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis. The items were seized and transported to the Mahdia Police Station for further processing.
At the station, the narcotics were weighed and amounted to 945 grams. The exhibits were subsequently marked, sealed and lodged as part of the investigation.
No arrests were made at the time of the discovery. Investigations are ongoing.
