Two men appeared at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court where they were arraigned for the possession of narcotics and an illegal shotgun.

Randolph Christopher and Prince Smith both appeared before Magistrate Allan Wilson.
Christopher pleaded guilty for being in possession of 235 grams of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and fined $10,000.
On the other hand, Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on July 31 at Moco Moco Central Rupununi, he had in his possession one shotgun without being the holder of a firearm license.
He was nevertheless granted bail in the sum of $75,000 and was ordered to make his next court appearance on August 24.
