Police on Friday arrested two males in separate instances, who were found in possession of a quantity of narcotics.
In the first case, Police in ‘F’ Division (Interior Locations) nabbed a Bartica man, who has been under Police surveillance.
According to reports, at about 17:00h on Friday, the suspect was walking on First Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) with a bag, when Police ranks stopped and searched him. Ranks unearthed in excess of 28 pounds of compressed cannabis wrapped in several taped parcels.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day at about 08:00h, an intelligence led operation in ‘D’ Division (West Demerara/East Bank Essequibo) resulted in the arrest of a male with narcotics.
It was reported that police ranks conducted a search at house at East Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara (WCD) and found unearthed 229 grams of cocaine along with 114 grams of cannabis.
