Unidentified motorcyclist dies after losing control of bike

An unidentified motorcyclist lost his life at Wales, West Bank Demerara (WBD) in the wee hours of Sunday, after he reportedly lost control of his bike while negotiating a turn, and it ended up in a nearby trench.
Forty-five-year-old Adrian Nelson of 18 Pouderoyen, WBD, who was the pillion rider at the time, sustained injuries.
Police, in a release, stated that after the accident, Nelson reported that he and the now-dead man were at a dance in Wales, and as the man was leaving, he solicited a drop home.
While proceeding along the western side of the Wales Public Road, the driver of the motorcycle was going at a fast rate, and in the vicinity of Clarke’s Turn, he lost control of the motorcycle and it ended up in the trench. The pillion rider recalled jumping off the motorcycle before it ended up in the trench.
According to Police, the men were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead, while the pillion rider was admitted as a patient suffering from a fractured leg. The body of the motorcyclist is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting identification and post-mortem examination.
Investigations into the circumstances of this fatal accident are continuing.
