― predicts dissolution of clubs
As the saga with four elite clubs and the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), intensifies, General Manager for Slingerz Football Club, Colin “BL” Aaron has sounded his voice on his club’s position after they were not given the green light to be a part of the Caribbean Club Championships.
Aaron confirmed that he has indeed received a letter along with an attachment letter from Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) which stated that the clubs are no longer in good standing with the GFF, ultimately affecting their participation in the championships. The clubs are Slingers FC, Alpha United FC, Pele FC and Georgetown Football Club.
“Yes we did receive a letter via the Federation [GFF] with an attachment from CONCACAFF to the Federation’s letter dated December 30 which says to CONCACAFF that the four clubs that withdrew from the league has no standing with the GFF meaning we are no members, we are just outsiders” Aaron stated.
The Slingerz boss went on to say that “based on this, CONCACAFF will not allow any club which is not in good standing to participate in an official tournament.”
