tycoon, Dr Yesu Persaud, and Maurice Solomon were honoured for 52 years each as ACCA members, while Nizamudin Ali, Harry Noel Narine and Rameshwar Lall have 48, 44 and 42 years respectively.

DDL’s Executive Chairman Komal Samaroo who has been an ACCA member for over 30 years, said his qualification catapulted him to where he is today. He encouraged his fellow accountants to maintain their craft despite changes in technology.

“Life will change dramatically in the coming years as the full impact of technologies [will alter] the way things are done and this will have very serious effects on our profession. Accountants as the agents of change must understand these changes and must be able to evaluate the impact of these changes on our organisation,” Samaroo highlighted.

Newly appointed head of ACCA Caribbean, Orin Gordon, told the accountants of the expanding business opportunities across the world. The ACCA qualification is said to be the largest and fastest growing qualification in the world, with over 500,000 members and students in 170 countries.
