Accused fraudster walks free

Alleged trickster Travis Roberts appeared on Friday before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly facing two counts of fraud, one alleging that on September 12 last, in the vicinity of Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he obtained $8000 from Stephon Isaacs by falsely pretending or purporting to show that he had in his possession a gold chain to sell.
The other charge alleges that, on June 4, 2018, he obtained $12,000 from Nelson Waldron by falsely pretending or proporting to show that he had in his possession a gold chain to sell. Neither of the virtual complaints ever received the gold chain.
Roberts denied the charges read to him, and Magistrate Daly discharged the matters against Roberts after he agreed to return to both virtual complaints the money he had taken from them.
