Alleged knife-wielding thief Kevin Adams was on Wednesday remanded to prison by Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly on a robbery charge alleging that on September 3, 2018, at Houston Access Road, East Bank Demerara, he robbed Renard Khan of his mobile phone worth $40,000.
It is also alleged that, during the robbery, Adams used a knife to attack the victim.
Adams denied the allegation, but on the matter of antecedents, Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh, in his submission to the court, informed that Adams was previously convicted for a similar offence.
The prosecutor also stated that Adams led the Police and the victim to a location where he had hidden the phone.
After hearing the prosecutor’s submissions, the magistrate remanded Adams to prison, and set the case to continue on October 3.
