Accused on trial for murder of Hill Foot remigrant to know fate on Tuesday

Donell Trapp, who is accused of murdering remigrant agriculturist, 60-year-old Anthony Breedy, is likely to know his fate on Tuesday afternoon after a jury deliberates on the evidence in the case.

Demerara High Court Judge Jo Ann Barlow, who is presiding over the 26-year-old man’s trial, will sum up the evidence on Tuesday morning before putting the case to the jury for deliberation on a verdict.

Murder accused: Donell Trapp

Trapp is accused of murdering Breedy between March 12 and 14, 2016, in the course/furtherance of a robbery. Upon his arraignment, he denied the charge.
State Counsel Latifah Elliott is appearing on behalf of the prosecution while Trapp is being represented by Attorneys-at-Law Dexter Smartt and Jevon Cox.
Police said that the body of Breedy was found in the lower flat of his Hill Foot, Soesdyke-Linden Highway home. The upper flat of the elderly man’s home was also ransacked.
