Navin Ally was on Friday refused bail by Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly when he appeared in her court to answer two counts of robbery.
Ally reportedly robbed Anand Persaud of a cellphone and $7,000 while he was in the vicinity of Longden Street, Stabroek on August 27, 2018.
On the same day at Croal Street, Georgetown, Ally allegedly robbed Amad Amid of two cellphones valued $95,000, and during this robbery, he used personal violence.
Ally has denied both allegations made out against him. However, Police prosecutor Sanj Singh objected to Ally being placed on bail on ground that he was positively identified as the perpetrator in both cases during a Police identification parade.
Prosecutor Singh also told the court that Ally will have additional charges of a similar nature brought against him.
Ally was refused bail and remanded to prison. The case will continue on September 28.
