Action resumes today with triple-header

After inclement weather whipped out the entire weekend action in the sixth annual Milo Schools Football Tournament, play is expected to resume today at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue with three matches that were initially slated to be contested on Saturday.

Last weekend’s action would have marked the commencement of the second round of group matches with the first round seeing 70 goals being scored and 2017 runners-up Morgan’s Learning Centre netting the highest in their 13-0 trouncing of School of Nations.

Should the weather permit, today’s action will see Annandale Secondary and Carmel Secondary from 16:00h followed by South Ruimveldt Secondary and Business School from 18:00h which should set an exciting tone for the final match of the night between three-time defending champions Chase Academic Foundation and Friendship Secondary from 20:00h.
At the same starting times on Wednesday St Roses High will come against Uitvlugt Secondary then Buxton Youth Development facing Charlestown Secondary followed by former champions Lodge Secondary in a battle Queenstown Secondary.

The under-18 tournament which is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education under theme “there is no excuse for violence” provides intense competition as teams are hoping to secure the first place prize of $500,000 which goes towards a school project. Second to fourth, will receive $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively which also go towards school projects.
