Action to continue at Burnham Hardcourt

Action in the 2018 Rainforest Water/Malta Supreme/Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Under 23 League will continue today at the Burnham Hardcourt with Pepsi Sonics taking on the unstoppable Eagles to headline the night’s activities.
In the other scheduled match, Pepsi Sonics will face UG Trojans in a First Division encounter.
The Pepsi Sonics have regrettably continued the form in which they began the tournament, losing more matches than they have won. The First, Second and Under 23 divisions are all racing downstream, seemingly heading to perdition.
This matchup would have pride at stake: the Sonics can add another win to their tally, or just continue to slip further into the clutches of an all-round horrendous

season, since it is highly unlikely that they can defeat the Eagles. The Sonics lost to the Kobras 60-58 on Wednesday in another match wherein they came so close but just couldn’t carry on.
The Eagles, on the other hand, have been in sensational form, thanks to Sherland Gillis and Shamaar Huntly, who have racked up more points than the combined total of half of the players in the league. However, in their last encounter, against the Plaisance Guardians, they were outplayed because of simple mistakes.
The Sonics and Trojans battle it out in the second match of the night, with both teams having a poor season. However, the Sonics are expected to beat the Trojans easily, as the student side hasn’t won a single game thus far, even though both teams are at the bottom of the table. The Trojans are far worse than the Sonics in terms of fitness and conversion rate, as is evident by their low-scoring encounters.
The first match tips off at 18:30h, then the main event starts from 20:30h. (Timothy Jaikarran)
