Afternoon delight hosts “ Tribute to Mothers” at New Thriving Restaurant
A Tribute to Mothers was held at the New Thriving Restaurant, Providence, East Bank Demerara, as the second instalment of the monthly ‘afternoon delight’ feature.
The very sophisticated and entertaining event showcased brilliant steel pan music that serenaded the guests.
Makin’ Style Boutique promised a makeover and Cheryl Noel was the mother selected, so the audience saw her before the makeover.
All the mothers and children were elegantly dressed in the personal style segment that they selected from their very own wardrobe. It was not mom and daughter but mom and son which added a special twist to this segment.
The first fashion segment included Noneika Daniels and her daughter Keyanna Thom, Mandy Isaacs and Son Avi Isaacs, Lorane Sears and daughter Stacia Cameron, Wendy Herdmonstine and daughter Jewel Herdmonstine, Candacy Subrattie and son Conan Subrattie, Veronica Murray and daughter Ongel Hamlet, Simone Beckles and daughter Callesia Rodney, Alexis Noel and son Antwan Dicks
on and Allana Pheonix and daughter.
Alana Phoenix, winner of Guyana Model a few years ago, said motherhood has changed her; she has become more responsible and a lot more mature, adding that she is completely grateful for God’s wonderful gift and she will do everything in her power to make it worthwhile.At the event, a very touching, spoken word piece was done by the talented Nesia Bamfiled as her tribute to all mothers; and Petal Bourne performed fantastic renditions of “Hallelujah” by A
lexandra Bruk and “Mama” by Candi Staton.
The second fashion segment featured Sonia Noel designs with jewellery from Mag Elegance, which featured colourful flowing pieces. The mothers were very energetic as they took their walks and turns with radiant smiles.

One final model made a grand entrance; Cheryl Noel with a complete makeover wearing a black and red exclusive outfit by Sonia Noel, earring by Fiona Graham Northe, make-up by Meleesa Payne and hair by Ann Chance of Exprezz Brows.Lucky mothers won fabulous prizes at the event.
