Air Services plane crash-lands at CJI Airport

A training flight belonging to the Air Services Limited (ASL) on Monday afternoon crash-landed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) at Timehri, EBD.

According to reports, only a pilot and his trainee were on board the flight at the time, and neither person was injured, but the flight Cessna 172, with registration number 8R-AFS, received minor damage in that its landing gear was slightly damaged.

This publication was told by airport officials that fire fighters at the CJIA were prompt in their safety efforts and in taking control of the situation. Contacted by Guyana Times, ASL Director Annette Arjune-Martins told this publication, “It was a hard landing, as the pilot is being trained,” and added that the incident was a minor one.
