Alberttown man charged for killing younger brother

An Alberttown man was reportedly charged on Monday with manslaughter for killing his younger brother, 21-year-old Moses Anthony at their Third Street Alberttown, Georgetown home on Thursday last.

Dead: Moses Anthony

The accused, Richard Anthony, was not required to plead to the indictable charge. He appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and was remanded to prison until March 28, 2022.
On the day in question, the now dead man was involved in an argument the entire day with his girlfriend and had left the house so that peace could reign.
It is alleged that after the man left, he returned home just after 21:00h under the influence of alcohol. He was helped into his bed and was later heard arguing again. He then went over to his brother’s house and began kicking on his door.
The suspect reportedly came out, and an argument broke out between them which quickly escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Richard went under the house, picked up a broken tile, and allegedly stabbed his brother in the neck.
This caused Moses to fall to the ground and later died. It was also reported that the two men always had disagreements but no one expected this one to end this tragically.
