Home Sports Albion CC set to host 2nd division 10/10 tournament
Action, drama and tension will return to the historic Albion Community Centre Cricket Club on Sunday August 4th, when the Albion Cricket Club-organised 10/10 second division cricket competition, featuring eight second division teams across the Ancient County of Berbice, gets underway. The first match will bowl off at 9:00hrs local time.
Cash, trophies and other incentives would be awarded to the top teams and outstanding individual players. The final match of the knockout 10/10 tournament will be played under floodlights at the same venue.
Among competing teams are Albion CC, Chesney, Fyrish, and the Jai Hind Cricket Club. Organisers say the activity will be used to raise funds for the Albion club.
Some of the Albion CC players who would be involved are: Kelvin Umroa, Jitendra Outar, Joshua Harichand and Anthony February.
The Jai Hind Cricket Club will feature John Sumair, Deoprakash Ramdat and Permaul Mangali.
The Chesney club includes former Stanford T20 star Imran Khan, while Fyrish will feature Moonilall Shivdyal, Ishnarine Shrikisun, Shazad Chinapen and Sayad Perbaksh.
The Albion CC would also host a media launch for this second division tournament on July 30, 2019 at 13:00h local time at the Albion CC. A cocktail reception would precede the launch. Permaul’s Trading and NTN Berbice are thus far among the sponsors for this event.
