Albouystown man remanded on cocaine charge

An Albouystown, Georgetown resident was on Thursday remanded to prison when he made a court appearance at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court to answer to a possession of narcotics charge.

Ranold Khan, 56, was arrested on Wednesday after Police received information and went to a house at Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara (WCD) and conducted a search. During the search, the Police discovered 171 grams of cocaine in Khan’s possession. He was later charged for the offence.

The defendant was remanded by Magistrate Michelle Liverpool. He will make his next court appearance on June 16, 2016.
