on Saturday May 14, 2016, thirteen Police Youth Clubs competed in the Annual “A” Division (Georgetown/East Bank Demerara) 10 a side football competition which was held at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
The Under-14 knockout competition which catered for both boys and girls was a part of “A” Division’s Golden Jubilee celebration.
At the conclusion of the competition, in the male category, Albouystown placed first followed by the Golden Grove/Diamond Young Achievers and East Ruimveldt, in that order.
In the female category, Tiger Bay Trend Changers emerged winners followed by Grove Kaleidoscope and
Captain of the Albouystown Male Team receiving the Champion Trophy from Attorney-at-Law James Bond
Central Georgetown.
Trophies were awarded to the top three teams in each category and each player was awarded a medal.
Special trophy awards were made to the Golden Grove/Diamond Young Achievers Youth Club for being the most disciplined team and Miss Alleya Allen who was adjudged the most valuable female player as well as the female who scored the most goals.
The competition was well attended and saw over five hundred children attending.
