Ali ‘The River Conqueror’ strikes again

— the final act

Asraff Ali who successfully swam across the Essequibo River on Monday, two days after swimming the Berbice for a fourth time, plans to swim the Demerara River on Monday September 19.
This time he intends to make the swim solo without any life boats.
“God willing, I will swim the Demerara River back and forth without a safety boat alongside on Monday (September 19). A good circus trapeze acrobat does his final act with a net. My final swim will be without a net (boat). I am aiming to complete the Essequibo, Berbice and Demerara Rivers within a period of two weeks,” he told this publication.
Ali believes that people are fearfully and wonderfully made and we come with a manual – the Bible. “The Almighty would like us to use our bodies for His glory.”
According to the 70-year-old Ali, he has a healthy mind in a healthy body thus little physical exercise is needed.
