It became two 2-1 in favor of Beacon when Dean Alfred found the back of the net in the 22 minute to hush the vocal crowd.Alfred scored twice more in the second half (42nd and 60th ) while Kimba Brathwaite accounted for goal number seven in the 90+3 minute.Police had on New Year’s Day made it to the final beating Monedderlust in a penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 deadlock.Police went ahead early thanks to a 7th minute goal off the booth of Rawle Haynes. Acho Wallace then increased the lead three minute later. However, Kevin Cottoy pulled one back to leave the score 2-1 at the end of the first half.With 11 minutes left in the game Arthley Bailey found the equalizer and the crown thought they had gotten their money’s worth but the remainder of the game was worth any cost. Neither team was able to score again and referee Colin Bowery blew his whistle and pointed to the penalty spot.The first shot was taken by Police FC goalkeeper Roncey Caleb and it found the back of the net.Monedderlust did not score with any of their three shots; thanks to Caleb. But his opposing equal was not far off and saved the second and third hammered into him but Caleb’s first shot was enough to take GT Police through winning 1- on penalty kicks.Tonight will also see Monedderlust and Edinburgh Gunners in a third place play-off.The winner of the competition is guaranteed $500,000 with a further $250,000 going to the loosing finalist.
