All plans are in place and the final positioning of the sounds systems and lighting are taking shape as the hours count down to the hosting of one of the most anticipated chutney shows on the West Coast of Demerara. The event is set for this Saturday at the parking lot of the Leonora Synthetic Track.
The organizers – Deejay Stress and Aamir Khan – have been doing their utmost to make sure this event will be on the tongues of everyone who attend. Thus far, tickets are going like crazy and more so, with the arrival of some of the main performers, persons are rushing to ticketing locations.
However, leading up to the event, the promoters will be giving away tickets during several television programmes. On the other hand, the offer of buying three tickets and getting the fourth one free is still ongoing. The artistes have expressed their excitement to be performing at the venue for the first time.
Those slated to perform are reigning international chutney monarch, Kris Persad
, also called “KI”; Nishard M, who is a member of KI and the Band; Master Saleem Beharry who is no stranger to Guyana; the sexy and breathtaking Sally Sagram, and rising Trinidad’s Chutney star, Shivan Sagram.
In addition, Aamir Khan along with the Shakti Stings Orchestra will be heating up the stage. Several Bollywood dancers and other top belly dancers will also grace the stage with their presence. Finally, the Dax New Generation Band will spice things up with some of their recent hits. Television and radio personality, WR Reaz is expected to be the emcee of the evening.
Tickets for the event cost $1500 in advance and more at the gate.
