All set for GTT Independence Concert at Guyana National Stadium

in less than a week, Guyana will be celebrating its 50th Independence Anniversary in grand style with a number of events planned to mark the milestone. Parties, mega concerts, a jouvert, and beach jams all will add to the excitement leading up to, during and after the May 26th celebrations.

On the night of Independence, all roads will lead to the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara for one of the first mega concerts to be held. The concert has been put together by the Blue Network, GTT, and is expected to be explosive.

Jamaican rapper Sean Kingston will headline the event. He is known for “Beautiful Girls”, “Fire Burning”, “Tomorrow” and “Face Drop”. He recently released two music videos – “One Away” and “All I Got” in January and March 2016, respectively.

The other artistes slated to perform at the event are Guyana’s own Natural Black, Jackie Jaxx and Lisa Punch along with Vershon, and a Trinidadian line-up featuring the 2015 Chutney Soca Monarch Ravi B, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons and the Asylum Vikings Band.

Tickets for the event cost $2000, but could be considered free as once a customer buys a ticket, he or she automatically gets back $2000 in credit or a one-month data plan.

Once a ticket is purchased, a code can be found at the back; to access the free credit or data plan simply dial *100#, select concert promo (7), choose free credit or data plan and enter the code at the back of the ticket.

These tickets can only be purchased at a GTT Store. Meanwhile, customers who purchase any Drone XT or PLUM Trigger Pro handsets will receive a free ticket. Those who purchase any of the Grand Neo, Samsung J5, Samsung S5 or the Samsung S6 handsets will receive two free Mega Concert tickets.

In addition, the public will get a chance to meet the artistes on May 26 along the parade route at the company’s Lot 55 Brickdam office. This event is a collaboration between GTT and Bank DIH, and will have live DJs, great music and a cocktail bar.
