Alleged alcoholic found dead in home with wound to head

A probe has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of 45-year-old Kissoon Latchman, who was found dead in his home at 16th Street Foulis, East Coast Demerara (ECD), on Thursday.
The man, who lived alone and is a known alcoholic, was found with a wound to his head at around 06:00h on the day in question.
Reports are the man was last seen alive in his hammock at around 20:30h on Wednesday evening when he left his daughter’s home under the influence of alcohol.
The man’s friend, who usually checks up on him, reportedly visited him the following morning and noticed that the door was left open.
The Police stated that the friend entered the house and discovered the man’s motionless body on a chair. In addition, the friend observed blood on the man’s bed and on several areas in the house including the hammock and on the ground just below the hammock.
He immediately raised an alarm and the dead man’s son rushed downstairs.
Police were summoned to the scene and the body was examined. Police have since confirmed that a wound was found to his left side head. His body was taken to a mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
No arrests were made in connection with the suspected murder.
