Alleged mastermind in Parika cocaine bust still on the run

Wanted: Ryan Pemberton, commonly called “Sancho”,
of Alberttown, Georgetown

Eight months after a drug bust at Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), the alleged mastermind, Ryan Pemberton, also called “Sancho”, of Alberttown, Georgetown is still on the run.
Well-placed sources have told Guyana Times that Pemberton is still wanted in connection with the drug bust, but there is no possible lead as to his whereabouts.

It was reported that on February 22, 2020, ranks of CANU swooped down on a vessel at Parika Backdam, and discovered over 27 kilograms of cocaine concealed in the boat’s bow.

Charged: Latchman Sankar and Muneshwar Dusrajh

Following the discovery, 35-year-old Latchman Sankar, aka “Jack”, and 49-year-old Muneshwar Dusrajh, aka “Bonny”, were immediately arrested and later charged.

The cocaine was found in 25 parcels and weighed 27.866 kilograms.
