A Sophia, Georgetown man who allegedly robbed a woman of her cellphone was on Friday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for robbery. Deshawn Britton denied the charge which alleged that on February 13, 2017, at Water Street, Georgetown, he robbed Ashley Norton of a cellular phone value ,000.
In court on Friday, the prosecution contended that the 23-year-old man was arrested and the phone was found in his possession.
The prosecution objected to bail when the matter was called before Magistrate Annette Singh. Britton was remanded to prison and the case will continue on March 8.
