Alleged Sindicato gang member body still unidentified

The alleged Sindicato gang member, who was shot dead on Thursday last after he and others attempted to invade a mining camp at Black Water, Cuyuni River, is yet to be identified.

However, a post-mortem conducted on Saturday by pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh gave the cause of death as perforation to the liver due to gunshot injury.
The dead man of mixed race was reportedly clad in a brown T-shirt, long blue jeans and long boots with his face covered in white paint.
Guyana Times previously reported that the now dead man, along with approximately five others, surrounded the Kevin Singh mining camp with the intention of carrying out a robbery.
However, a security officer attached to the Sheriff Security Service opened fire, killing the suspect and scaring off the other perpetrators.
In their bid to escape, the perpetrators left behind three unlicensed pistols and an assortment of live and spent shells. These items were found in close proximity to the body of the dead alleged gang member.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
