Angel’s quick-fire century propels Raptors to comfortable win

The action continued in the EBCA/SD Investment T20 Competition 2022 which saw Continental Park Raptors duking it out with Uprising at Queen’s College Ground. The high-scoring match-up saw centuries being scored for both teams; however, it was Shamal Angel’s belligerent 47-ball 103 that took Continental Park Raptors over the line.

Alvin Mohabir supported with 52

The Raptors won the toss and decided to bowl. Uprising made 202-5 in 20 overs, as the pitch proved to be a batsman’s paradise, Uprising made good use and played classy cricket, racking up the mammoth total. Shakiel Wong with 112 in 72 balls (13×6, 4×4) led the charge, aiding Wong was Ryan Shun with 50 in 43 balls (2×6, 5×4). Leading the bowling for the Raptors was Kevin Ross (2-24).
In reply, the Raptors ended on 205-4 in 16.4 overs; while 203 for the win was a competitive total, the Raptors made light work of the total as they dispatched their opponents’ bowling to every part of the Queen’s College ground.

Shamal Angel blasted 103* in 47 balls

The star of the day was none other than Angel with 103*in 47 balls (7×6, 10×4); he was ably supported by Alvin Mohabir with 52 in 32 balls (2×6, 6×4) and Stephen Alves with 16* in 8 balls (2×6).
The Continental Park Raptors won by six wickets.
