Following a deadly weekend in which there were five fatalities in separate vehicular accidents, another man is in a critical state after being involved in a hit-and-run accident on the Anna Catherina Public Road, West Coast Demerara on Monday evening.
The injured man has been identified as 49-year-old Trevor Albert of Lot 6 Anna Catherina, WCD.
The Police have said that on Monday at about 18:30h, an unknown motor vehicle was proceeding west along the Anna Catherina Public Road when it hit the pedestrian, who was on the other side of the road, and drove away.
The injured pedestrian was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to Leonora Cottage Hospital, but due to severity of his injuries, was transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH), where he was admitted a patient is stable condition.
The vehicle involved in the accident has not yet been located, but Police investigations continue.
