An Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) man was on Monday taken before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to two counts of Trafficking In Persons (TIP).

Dwayne Ford, 36, of Lot 6 East Bush Lot Housing Scheme, Anna Regina, was granted bail for the offence when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges which stated that between July 1 and August 30, 2016, at Anna Regina, he engaged in TIP, that is to say he recruited, transported, harboured and controlled two young girls.

His lawyer, Stanley Moore, made a successful bail application, noting that his client has a bar at the above-mentioned address and has been living there for a number of years.

He further noted that his client was anxious to appear at each court hearing to vindicate his name.

He was granted bail in the sum of $500,000 for each count of TIP. He will return to court on September 30, 2016.
