Home News Anna Regina Municipality Pound back in operation
After being out of operation for a long period, the Anna Regina Municipality Pound is back in operation.
This was revealed by the town’s Mayor, Rajendra Prabhulall during its statutory meeting on Thursday.
Residents, especially drivers within the township, had been complaining of the many stray animals roaming the roadways, especially at nights and causing many accidents which were not reported owing to the unclear ownership of the animals.
The Mayor said that as a result of the non-functioning of the Pound, the stray animals became a threat to road users, but with it back in full operation, the issue would be addressed.
The newly-elected Mayor pledged to look at all avenues of development within the township. He called on Councillors to be friendly with their constituency, to work closely with the residents, especially the business people, and, most importantly, to make time to go out and listen to the many problems that residents face and deal with them in a holistic manner.
