Anna Regina thrash Abram Zuil by 10 wickets to retain title

Anna Regina Secondary regained their Championship crown by thrashing Abram Zuil Secondary by 10 wickets in last Wednesday’s final of the Inter-Secondary School Under-17 Cricket Championships sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Guyana Cricket Board and the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Insurance Company Limited.

In the match, played at the Imam Bacchus Ground, Anna Regina Secondary won the toss and decided to field first, bowling out Abram Zuil Secondary for just 30 runs in a mere 13.2 of their allotted 18 overs. In this poor batting exhibition by the losing side, Saied Haq was the top-scorer with 8 not out, and no other scorer could pass 5.

It was a clinical bowling performance from Anna Regina Secondary, as Lance Roberts bagged 3-7 off his 4 overs, and Kamesh Lall 3-1 from just one over. In reply, Anna Regina Secondary strolled to 31 without loss in just 8.1 overs. They have retained the championship for three consecutive years.
