Annandale beat rivals Buxton by 100 runs

– Stewartville, Bladen Hall & NA also record wins

Four schools in three zones recorded victories in the latest action in the 2017/2018 Guyana Cricket Board/ Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited/National Sport Commission/ National Secondary School Cricket League (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL).
In the four matches that were played in the East Coast of Demerara, West Demerara and Berbice zones; Stewartville, Annandale, Bladen Hall and Berbice High notched up wins.
Stewartville beat Sarawat by 2 wickets
At the Zeeburg ground on the West Coast of Demerara, Stewartville won the toss and invited Sarawat to bat first. After 19.5 overs, Sarawat were bundled out for a mere 72 runs with 10.1 of their 30 overs unused. Beesham Singh top scored with 19 while Alex Ali grabbed 5 for 18 and Richardo Panaram 2 for 23 bowling for Stewartville.

In reply, Stewartville Secondary almost made a mess of the chase by losing eight wickets before reaching the 73-run target. Alex Ali was unbeaten on 26 while Balist Budram made 18. Bowling for Sarawat, Mahendra Persaud and Beesham Singh took one wicket each.
Annandale beat Buxton by 100 runs
Over at the Enterprise Community Centre ground, it was a ding dong clash between neighbours Annandale and Buxton. It was Annandale Secondary who batted first and posted a challenging 170 for 5 off 25 with Ronaldo Fredericks leading the way with a solid 58 with support from Romel Dotterden 37 and Vinod Sundar 25. Keron Sutton were the most dormant bowler for Buxton Secondary, grabbing 2 for 16 off 4 overs.
In Reply, Buxton could only muster 70, as Annandale bowler, Vinod Sundar wreaked havoc in claiming 7 for 12 off 5.4 overs and was aided by Ronald Fredericks with 3 for 12.
Bladen Hall beat Golden Grove by 36 runs
In another match also at the Enterprise ground, Bladen Hall batted first and labored to 136 for 8 off their allotted 25 overs, in a game where overs were reduced due to rain. Batting for Bladen Hall, Vickram Narine notched 40. Bowling for Golden Grove, Shannor Noville grabbed 4 for 39 and Clayden Ferguson 2 for 27.
In reply, Golden Grove Secondary, could only post 100 off 21.4 of their allotted 25 overs. Batting for Golden Grove, Rhyme Mohamed top scored with 24. Bowling for Bladen Hall, Roberto Thomas grabbed 6 for 7.
New Amsterdam beat Berbice High by 6 wickets
Over at Cumberland, in Berbice, Berbice high won the toss and decided to bat and were dismissed for 93 off 23.1 of their allotted 30 overs. Daniel Narsaiah top scored with 25 as Nicholas Haywood and Intiaz Jaundoo both grab 3 wickets each, while Nicholas Amsterdam supported with 2 wickets for the victors.
In reply, New Amsterdam reached 94 for 4 off 18.3 of their allotted 30 overs. Troy Sookraj topped scored with 39 while Zeynul Ramsammy was the most instrumental BHS bowler with 3 for 26.
