Anns Grove man remanded for murder

A 35-year-old man was on Wednesday arraigned for murder when he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Zamina Seepaul-Ally.
Rawle Munroe, of Lot 40 Two Friends, Anns Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on May 26, Independence Day, he murdered 23-year-old Edward Bevaney at Beterverwagting,

The accused was remanded to prison and was expected to return to court on June 26.
It was previously reported that Munroe and Bevaney of Ogle Street, Triumph, ECD, worked together in the interior several years ago, but became enemies over a soured business deal.
The two reportedly crossed each other’s path on May 26 when Munroe visited a shop in Beterverwagting about 08:00h.
An altercation ensued which led to both men being stabbed. However, Bevaney succumbed to his injuries.
Munroe was later arrested and charged.
