Annual National Draughts Championship 2018 set for November 4 

The Annual National Draughts Championship is scheduled to commence on Sunday, November 4th at the National Gymnasium located on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.
The A and B classes will be played in the opening matches this weekend; as of this year these two competitions will take a different format, where there will be a combination of the two classes. On Sunday, November 11, the Open International 100-square match will conclude the Championship. All the games will be played under a round-robin system. The entrance fee is $300 per player, and snacks will be on the house. Registration starts at 10:00h; game time is scheduled for 10:30h

On behalf of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market, Manager Ramesh Synch has donated three trophies for the B class winners. Other entities such as Noble House Seafoods, Atlantic Marine Supplies Eccles, Puran Bros Disposable Services, Brans Security Service, Colours Boutique and Attorney- at-Law Elias Gentle have also made contributions. Rubis Bel Air will also be sponsoring the 100- square tournament next weekend. Travis Lyken, Manager of Sivert Design on Russell Street, will also be giving one haircut to the A Class champion.
Draughts fans will also have the opportunity to witness current national A Class champion Jiaram defend his title, while Mark Brathwaite, the current holder of the 100-square crown, will aim to retain his title. Senior and junior players nationwide are invited to participate in the championship.
