Is there another standoff between management and workers brewing similar to the one which occurred some months ago? (‘Goldfield refuses to meet with “unrecognised” unions’ – Guyana Times, May 28, 2019).
The authorities responsible for labour matters should take all necessary steps to ensure this does not happen, especially in view of the ill-conceived notion that workers reached out to the unrecognised union rather that the Labour Department as an indication of ‘a lack of faith in the Government taking action’.
