Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) Regional Democratic Council member Hardat Narine was on Tuesday taken before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

The 48-year-old A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) Councillor pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on September 30, 2016, he was found driving under the influence of alcohol.
After pleading guilty, he was fined $7500.
In June, Narine was charged for dangerous driving and failing to comply with Police direction. He was granted $10,000 bail for the dangerous driving charge and released on his own recognisance for the other two charges.
