The Court of Appeal has reserved its ruling on an application seeking to overturn the manslaughter conviction against Travis McDougall who is serving a 25-year jail term for the 2014 fatal shooting of 43-year-old dredge owner Ashok Raghu.
McDougall was found guilty of unlawfully killing Raghu – who was shot dead during a robbery on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown – by a unanimous jury verdict following a trial at the Demerara High Court in 2017. He was sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment by trial Judge Navindra Singh.
