Arch rivals go head to head at Den Amstel

Super 4 Massive Easter Sunday Football

Arch rivals Den Amstel and Uitvlugt Warriors have booked a date in the second semi final of the Super 4 Massive Promotions annual football fest which is set for the Den Amstel ground this Sunday.

The teams along with Coordinator Franklin Wilson met on Sunday afternoon last at the Den Amstel Community Centre with the Director of Sports, Christopher Jones and West Demerara Football Association President and Secretary, Orin Ferrier and Adrian Giddings also present.
Prior to conducting the draw, the teams were further briefed on the one day fiesta which would see the two semi finals being played for 40 minutes (20 minutes each half) with the third place match and final being played for 60 minutes and 80 minutes, respectively.
Being the #1 seeded club in the association, Den Amstel was given the privilege of drawing their opponent, Coach O’Neil Heywood pulled old rivals Uitvlugt from the bag which meant that Eagles and Pouderoyen will meet in the first match of the day at 17:00h.
All the clubs stated that they are happy to have been afforded the opportunity by the organizers, Super 4 Massive – Alex Greene, Akantunde Rudder aka Rigget, Roger Miller and Miles Miller who are from the Village of Den Amstel but resides overseas.
The top team will walk away with $100,000 with the loser of the final pocketing $50,000 while the 3rd place winner will receive $20,000. There would also be individual prizes Best Young Player, Best Goalkeeper and Highest Goal Scorer.
The organisers are extending thanks to the West Demerara Football Association, Management Committee of the Den Amstel Community Centre and the Commander of D Division of the Guyana Police Force, West Demerara, Leslie James for their support to date.
