Home Sports Archery Guyana now affiliated with NPCG
Archery Guyana, a nascent sporting body which has recently become an affiliate of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), is now also affiliated with the National Paralympic Committee of Guyana.
This achievement typifies Archery Guyana’s desire and drive to ensure that every Guyanese, however abled they are, is afforded the very best opportunity to excel and pursue their dreams and ambitions to participate at the highest levels in sport.
President of Archery Guyana, Mohamed Khan; and Secretary-General Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, at a simple ceremony on Wednesday, received the Certificate of Affiliate status from President of the National Paralympic Committee of Guyana (NPCG), Wilton Spencer; and Secretary-General Beverly Pile.
Spencer noted that the NPCG is affiliated to the International Paralympic Committee, and emphasised how pleased he was to grant the affiliate status to Archery Guyana, while noting that Archery Guyana is at this time the first and only affiliate sporting body of the NPCG.
Khan has described Archery Guyana’s pleasure in achieving this status as not only ground-breaking, as the first sporting body to be accredited, but also as the completion of a circle of objectives desired by Archery Guyana.
