Armed bandits nabbed after robbing Bourda Market vendors

Police in A Division (Georgetown-East Bank Demerara) have arrested two bandits who were nabbed in the vicinity of Bourda Market, Lacytown, Georgetown, after robbing two vendors of some 0,000 cash.
According to reports, the robbery occurred at about 23:00h on Monday. Information reaching Guyana Times revealed that vendors, Wayne Miller, 51, and Darmenna Wong, 43, both of Block Y, Section C, Grove, East Bank Demerara, were attacked while operating their businesses.
“Investigations have so far revealed that the vendors were in the vicinity of Orange Walk and Robb Street, Bourda, when two men; one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached the victims and robbed them of 0,000,” the Police said in a release on Wednesday.
However, the Police added that during the attack, the victims raised an alarm and public spirited citizens went to their rescue during which the suspects were apprehended.
The Police was summoned and recovered a 9mm pistol along with five live matching rounds from one of the suspects. The two men were taken into custody where they are assisting with the investigations.
