Three heavily armed bandits took off with a quantity of cash and valuables after robbing an Albouystown, Georgetown, family. The incident occurred at about 05:30h at the Lot 916 James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown house.
The victims have been identified as 67-year-old pensioner Noel Seepaul; housewife Neesha Seepaul, 59; Nandranie Persaud, 43; Sudourka Goodhand, 20; and 18-year-old Zoveena Khan.
According to reports, Khan, Goodhand and Neesha Seepaul were in the yard sitting when three identifiable males, all armed with handguns, entered the gate and held them at gun point.
The suspects then took the three females into the lower flat of the two-storey house and relieved them of their valuables. Khan was relieved of a cellphone valued $16,000 and a gold chain valued $18,000; while Goodhand was relieved of her $22,000 cellphone; and Neesha Seepaul of $100,000.
Not satisfied, the bandits then escorted the victims to the upper flat, where they pounced on Noel Seepaul, who was robbed of $10,000; and Persaud, of $15,000 along with two cellphones valued at $41,000.
The men then escaped on foot in the southern direction along James Street, Albouystown.
The matter was reported to the Police and investigators are expected to obtain CCTV footage from a nearby location to ascertain the identities of the three suspects as investigations continue.
