Atlantis CC into quarters

Clement “Busta” Lawrence Premier League 2019…

Georgetown Cricket Club all-rounder (GCC) Winston Forrester continued his fine form over the weekend by blasting 38 runs off just 30 deliveries for his club, Atlantis, in action against the Sheffield Cricket Club in the Clement “Busta” Lawrence Premier League 2019 tournament.
Atlantis have now booked a spot in the quarterfinals, and Forrester has moved up the runs chart, having scored 342 runs from 8 matches at an average of 48.86, with a healthy strike rate of 117.53. This compares favourably with his opponents’ rates, especially since they have played their full quota of 13 games.
Forrester is currently ranked 9 on the batting charts.
In an Atlantis 40-Over matchup against Sheffield, Sheffield won the toss and elected to bat. After the first ten overs, Sheffield found themselves in a world of trouble, struggling for runs. No batsman could form any partnership around Akeem Dodson, who looked to carry on.
However, unfazed, Dodson took the fight to Atlantis, but was dismissed for a patient 45 made off 66 balls. After Dodson fell, the team lost their will to fight and were bundled out for a paltry 134 in 33 overs.
Bowling for Atlantis, Joseph Brown returned figures of 3-53, Hugo D’Oliviera 2-27, Trinson Carmichael 2-17; with Keon Lake and Prashant Nair bagging one each.
Needing a small total of 135 for victory off 40 overs, opener Randal Wilson and his more aggressive partner Winston Forrester dominated the weak Sheffield bowling lineup, until Forrester fell for a well-played 30-ball 38 that included 7 boundaries.
Wilson and new batsman Yannick Elliot never lost their footing though, as they brought balance to the innings and finished the game in 18.1 overs on 137-1. Wilson top scored with 52, while Elliot supported with 36.
