The incident occurred in the vicinity of Rahaman’s Park at Houston, Greater Georgetown, during the afternoon rush hour.
Reports are that the woman, who was riding a motorcycle, was about to change lanes without looking in her rear-view mirror when she collided with a minibus. The impact of the minibus forcefully projected the woman and her nephew across the road. It was during this that the two victims received injuries to their bodies, though, at this time, it is unclear how severe the injuries are.
Guyana Times visited the scene of the accident, where the young boy, dressed in his school uniform, was lying motionlessly alongside the road while Police and medical professionals tended to him.
