tanks.
Information revealed that several reports were made to the Department of Education but, to date, nothing has been done to rectify the situation. Information received revealed that the teachers’ toilet septic tanks were dug out from underground, since it was filled. It is now exposed, and although the washrooms are inoperable, teachers are still forced to use them, since they have no other alternative.
“The septic tanks are exposed, the waste and toilet paper (is) running in the drains. It’s unbearable! Whenever a teacher uses the toilet and flushes it, everything goes in the drain,” a staff member related to this publication.
In addition to that, a pipe in the children’s toilet is broken and has caused a built up of waste. Classes that were accommodated in the western wing of the school had to be relocated elsewhere due to the high stench emanating from the toilet facilities. Teachers and students are concerned about their health, since the entire school is said to be infected with bacteria. An appeal is therefore being made to the Department of Education to remedy the situation before an outbreak of some disease starts.
