Baby found abandoned in front of Police Station, neglectful mother in custody

A bouncing nine-month-old baby boy who was left abandoned at the entrance of the Baramita Police Station, Region One (Barima-Waini) on Thursday morning is in the care of the staff of the community’s health centre.

Without hesitation, he cuddled the smiling child and gave him a warm bath after which he slept for some time.
The subordinate officer in charge of the station, Corporal Jennifer Griffith and other ranks pooled their monies and purchased clothing and pampers for the child they described as a “miracle baby” before he was taken to be medically examined.

Wednesday evening since she was in an intoxicated state.
In addition, she told the peace officers that she could not recall who it was.
Based on information received, she would have visited the Baramita Health Centre where she saw her child before making her way to the Police Station. She was arrested as the Police launched an investigation.
