Bakewell throws support behind GFF Super 16 Cup

As a household name throughout Guyana, Bakewell — one of the leading bakeries in the country — continued its traditional support of sports’ development in the country when its official handed over a cheque to the Guyana Football Federation in support of the year-end tournament, the Super 16 Cup.

At the company’s premises at Triumph, East Coast Demerara, Bakewell General Manager Rajin Ganga handed over a cheque to President of the Guyana Football Federation, Wayne Forde, to cement the company’s commitment to supporting the GFF.
Ganga said the company is pleased to be continuing a good tradition of supporting, in a tangible way, the development of the game and sport in Guyana. He reminded that late Bakewell proprietor Naeem Nasser would have been happy to support a sport which he loved and hugely invested in during his lifetime.
Responding, Forde thanked Ganga for Bakewell’s continued commitment to football and the continued empowerment of players, and said Bakewell has, over the years, displayed a true commitment to sports’ development in Guyana.
