Playing at the St Stanislaus College Ground on Carifesta Avenue, the ladies had their time to shine on Saturday while the males’ final went down on Sunday.
The Saints girls had been equally as dominant as GCC Bingo Spartans in the tournament, and only needed a win with a four-goal advantage to take the league victory. However, the Bingo Spartans remained formidable as usual, restricting the Saints girls from even scoring.
Abosiade Cadogan, Paige Fernandes, and Madison Fernandes each netted one goal for Bingo Spartans’ 3-0 win. Meanwhile, Fernandes was recognised as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the highest goal scorer. Donyale Nurse copped the best goalkeeper award.

On Sunday, a match between the YMCA OFHC Ballerz and the GCC Pitbulls was the technical final of the league with either side needing a win to take the gold. While the GCC Pitbulls led with points, the Ballerz had a superior goal difference. As such, the victory for the Ballerz allowed them to attain 19 points, similarly to the Pitbulls, but their goal difference of 22 put the nail in Pitbulls’ coffin.
The YMCA OFHC Ballerz won the hard-fought game against the Pitbulls 2-1 to make their dreams of a league win a reality.
GCC Pitbulls’ Kareem Mckenzie was adjudged the MVP of the Boys’ league, while Shaquon Favourite of YMCA OFHC Ballerz was the highest goal scorer with 12 goals. Paul D’Andrade, also of the winning team, was given the nod as the best goalkeeper.
The outdoor hockey will continue at the same venue this weekend as the Bounty Paper Towels – “Quicker Picker Upper” – Second Division Men’s and Women’s leagues come to a close.
