“Bam Bam” slapped with narco trafficking charge

A Linden man, also known as “Bam Bam”, appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday slapped with a narcotics trafficking charge.
Sheldon Joseph was granted bail in the sum of $125,000.
It is alleged that the 39-year-old, of Danjou Alley, Wismar, Linden, had 350 grams of cannabis sativa in his possession on January 18, 2018, for the purpose of trafficking. The prosecution is contending that Joseph was caught with the illegal substance at 47 Miles, Mabura Road, in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
The court heard that at the time of the discovery, which was made by Police ranks, the defendant was in a vehicle with other occupants which was heading to an interior location.
Joseph was represented by Attorney Yondessa Welcome. The matter was adjourned until March 19.
